We understand that sometimes plans change. If you need to cancel your stay, here is how cancellations are treated on Samsú.
If you cancel…
More than 8 weeks before arrival: You will receive a full refund of everything you have paid, or, if you prefer, a credit note to the same value to use against a future stay.
Between 4 and 8 weeks before arrival: We retain 25% of your total booking fee and refund the rest to your original payment method within 14 working days. If you would rather, we can instead offer you a credit note to the full value of everything you have paid — so none of it is lost, it simply waits for your next stay.
4 weeks or less before arrival: The full booking fee is retained and no refund is given — unless we manage to resell your dates. If we do, we can offer you a credit note for the amount we recover, less any difference in price and a reasonable administration cost. We will always try, but we can't promise to resell the dates or to discount them in order to do so.
No-show: If you don't check in on your arrival date without letting us know, this is treated as a cancellation within 4 weeks and the full booking fee is retained.
About Credit Notes
A credit note is valid for five years from the date we issue it, can be used against any booking on the Samsú platform, is personal to you (it can't be transferred to someone else), and can't be exchanged for cash.
If you paid with a gift voucher, any refund for that part goes back onto your original gift voucher (keeping its original expiry date), rather than as a credit note or cash. Anything you paid by card is refunded to your card, or as a credit note where the option above applies.
A Few Useful Things to Know
How to cancel: All cancellations must be made in writing to bookings@samsu.ie. We can't accept cancellations by any other method.
Travel insurance: We always recommend taking out travel insurance when you book, including cover for cancellation — it's the simplest way to protect yourself if the unexpected happens, including weather.
If an owner cancels: In the rare event a host needs to cancel a confirmed booking, we'll let you know as soon as we can and offer you suitable alternative accommodation on the platform, or a full refund of everything you've paid.
